BEING ONE WITH WYMERING MANOR
It is a beautiful, mysterious, and tale-filled home. This is regarded as the most haunted house in all of Hampshire, UK. The street and church names originated from this mansion.
When I arrived at Wymering Manor, I was particularly interested in the interior because there were many rooms there, but not all of them were available to us. We were divided into groups and given blindfolds to wear. Keri went first, and I held her hand while she explored the outside of WYMERING MANOR with her other senses. When it was my time, we selected a different exterior area of the structure. It was an amazing experience because I had to rely only on Keri and my other senses while I was wearing a blindfold.
Every surface had a variety of textures and materiality, ranging from roughness and smoothness to softness and hardness and varied sounds.
Later, after following Belinda's instructions, Keri and I sat down in the grass and drew what we heard, felt, saw, touched, and smelt while wearing blindfolds. I pulled out my book and pencil and started doodling with my breath. It was an amazing encounter. I wasn't blindfolded, so I didn't see anything, but someone who was blindfolded was able to see what was on my head. Another group was performing the blindfolding and walking activity when she caressed my hair and gave me a flower that was in it. It taught me that your senses take over when one is not being used.
After that, we went upstairs to have two drawing sessions: one in which we worked in groups and another in pairs. We also recorded the sound emanating from those illustrations. It was a pleasant encounter.
We made music the second time we all visited WYMERING MANOR—weird, huh? Indeed, we did. varying noises from various objects influencing other objects. We performed for the remaining groups as well.
Later, my group was instructed to move downstairs for a session that included three questions and a collage to complete.
Here's one of my texts:
‘ Sat down, eyes closed, took a deep breath,
It felt good but she felt trapped. Eyes opened
The whole space looked beautiful but she still
felt trapped.’
