My design entails making use of a small part of Wymering Manor but affecting Wymering as a whole.

A MUSIC ROOM

Creating a lively and essential music room that honours the manor's historical heritage while simultaneously establishing it as a thriving cultural hub. The intention is for the music room to become an essential and captivating aspect of the Wymering Manor experience as a whole.

Not just to preserve Wymering Manor as a historical landmark, this Music Room goes above and beyond historical bounds to offer a dynamic atmosphere for the development of musical talent. Below are some features done and the reasons;

1.Japanese Seiza

This traditional sitting position is frequently connected to different traditional arts forms, tea ceremonies, and meditation in Japan.In context of designing a music room, below are the reasons for using it;

Seiza is renowned for encouraging proper alignment and focus. Sitting in seiza can assist people to keep a steady and alert posture, which can improve practice sessions and performance in a music room where attention and focus are critical.

It creates a common ground and could improve the group's ability to work together to make music.

The music room can gain a cultural and artistic dimension by utilising the Japanese sitting style.

Incorporating the Japanese sitting style may draw a varied audience and promote a sense of cultural inclusivity if the manor interacts with the neighbourhood.

2.Stage 

A small stage can be used in a music room for a variety of functional and aesthetics reasons, which will improve the listening experience. The reasons for incorporating it are below;

Enhancing visibility for both performers and audience is possible with an elevated platform. It guarantees a clear view of the performances for every person in attendance.

The acoustics of a stage can benefit from actors being elevated. It facilitates greater sound projection, enabling clearer sound to reach the listener.

The music room's overall look can benefit from a little stage. It enhances a polished, professional appearance.
