WEEK 1: VIBRANT MATTER

 VIBRANT MATTER

WOW, my first day in class, also my first time writing a blog or even thinking of writing one, go easy on me as I share my thoughts on my first class.

Today a text was read to us and the text read to us examines how non-human elements i.e the weather, has an influence on the human point of view and decision.

The SUNNY Tuesday morning played a great role in how the person encountered the items i.e the sun made the items shimmer and shine back and forth which made them not easy to be ignored. If the sun had not glittered on the black glove, then the writer wouldn’t have been able to see the pollen as well as the dead rat, the white bottle plastic cap, and the smooth stick of wood as they were.

In this text, the who scenery was an abstract combination of materials and objects which were made as a whole. The items and materials were no longer seen as just items but as things that made a whole assemblage, meaning one thing made another thing to be noticed.

To me at a point, these items just seemed like just items but how people view it will determine how they will be seen. Everything is interconnected and if one is removed all will be affected. If Tuesday morning was not sunny those items might have not been seen it even might have been seen or not noticed by the writer.

This text also encouraged looking at your environment in a way that the environment needs to be seen as well as listening to the environment.

Also in class, we were told to visulize the text individually, each table was given different materials so as to come up with the visualization. My table was given chalks, needles, threads and pencils. Below is a visual representation of the text to me. I used threads to connect the items that were seen and made them the centre of the drawing.
